CEE region drives the growth in Europe in Q1’2019

All countries from the region posted higher than the average for the European Union.

Emerging Europe is continuously driving growth in Europe, as indicated by Q1’2019 GDP growth data published by Eurostat today. All countries from the region posted higher than the average for the European Union and the eurozone growth rate, standing at the forefront among all European countries.

Central Europe is doing particularly well – Hungary saw its GDP surge by more than 5% YoY in Q1, thus occupying the leading position in Europe, while Polish growth was as high as 4.6%. Romania, whose economy slowed down substantially last year, accelerated its pace of growth substantially compared to the final quarter of 2018.
